Then we had many many 'good-bye' lunches and dinners with all our classes. The students were so generous to treat us to 'high class' restaurants and we were stuffed every time. Stephen's children class mothers also gave him many presents that he was so moved to know how much they liked him. Yin also received many presents from her adult students. Some presents are already in her stomach, some have been shipped to Canada, and some will go with her in her suitcase. All these souvenirs will remind us of our wonderful time with you all.
We have spend 8 and a half years in total in Japan. We love most of all our friends and students - all of you - who have been so kind and helpful to us. You took us to restaurants, hot springs, sightseeing places; helped us in many practical ways; and most of all, have become our very very good friends. We shared about our lives with each other, learned a lot from each other; laughed and sighed together. And now we have to say good-bye - for now.

スティーブンと私（イン）は、3/7のタレントフェスタを、これは私たちのセンターでの最後のイベントでしたが、とても楽しみました。大人と子供、あわせて50人くらいの生徒さんが参加しました。
弦楽四重奏、ピアノ、トランペット、俳句の解説などがありました。子供たちも、英語でストーリーを読んだり、英会話を実演したり、クラスで学んでいることを披露しました。美術、工芸品の展示も素晴らしかったです。生徒さんたちが、こんなに素晴らしいタレントを持っているのを見て驚きました。
それから、すべてのクラスでお別れランチやディナーをしてもらいました。生徒さんたちは気前良く、“ハイクラス”なレストランに連れて行ってくださり、私たちはいつもおなかいっぱい食べました。スティーブンの子供クラスのお母さんたちは、たくさんのプレゼントをくださり、スティーブンは皆がどんなに自分のことが好きかを知って、感激していました。私も大人の生徒さんたちからたくさんのプレゼントをもらいました。プレゼントの中にはもうおなかの中にはいってしまったものもあり、カナダに送ったものもあり、また、私のスーツケースで私といっしょに行くものもあります。これらすべてのお土産は、皆さんと過ごした素晴らしいときを思い出させてくれることでしょう。
私たちは日本で合計8年半を過ごしました。私たちは、親切で、いろいろ助けてくださった、友達や生徒さんたち皆さんが、皆さんすべてが、大好きです。皆さんは私たちをレストランや温泉、観光地に連れて行ってくださいました。そして、たくさんの実際的なことを手伝ってくださいました。そしてとりわけ、とても素晴らしいお友達になってくださいました。共に生活を分かち合い、互いに多くのことを学び、いっしょに笑ったりため息をついたりしました。そして今、私たちはお別れを言わなければなりません。（とりあえず今は）
