ロンより皆さんへごあいさつ

It is both my honor and privilege that students have entrusted me to help them in the study and development of their English. Also, I say a BIG “Honto ni arigato gozaimasu” to you all, the Japanese people, and your government, for allowing me into your country to have this wonderful opportunity to serve you all.

About such an opportunity: I praise and thank GOD for this great chance to serve Him by extending and sharing His wonderful love and grace to friends and students I will meet here in Japan. It is my earnest and sincere desire that you experience the wonderful life that can be found in Jesus Christ as your personal lord and savior. I am excited, thrilled and very happy to have such a blessed, GOD-given opportunity to serve Him here in Japan. I truly want to make the most of this time here with you all.

More specifically, I am very happy and privileged to teach the Bible, and share about the wonderful Christian life. All the while, I enjoy teaching English and my goal is to teach both with excellence, love and enthusiasm, and to care about the students I have. I enjoy teaching English because I enjoy meeting people from other countries and cultures. Also, I really take pleasure in the success of students I am privileged to teach. I look forward to helping and serving you.

About my background and teaching experience: first, I had a great experience previously here in Japan where I taught English for about two and a half years. I have also taught ESL to adults in the U.S., where students were from a variety of different countries, yes some from Japan too. I have more than 3 years ESL/EFL teaching experience. Additionally, I have more than 3 years (substitute) teaching experience in the public schools in the U.S., where I worked mostly in grades kindergarten through middle school. Total combined teaching experience is more than 6 years. I enjoy teaching both children and adults.

Having studied both Spanish and Japanese as second languages myself, I can better relate to and understand the difficulties of my students as they seek to learn English.

Regarding my teaching style: I am concerned about your learning and retention of what is presented in class. Therefore, I desire to help you think through (somewhat independently) and discover facts and truth for yourself. I don’t just want to tell you something, I want you to learn it.

My educational credentials are as follows:

Certificate in Applied Linguistics & ESL
Bachelor’s degree in Social Science
Minor in Spanish
Distinguished Graduate
Master of Public Health

One personal note: Thanks be to GOD! Because He has blessed my life with a sweet Japanese woman named Sakura as my wife.

I look forward to being your friend, servant, and teacher,

Warm regards in Jesus,

Ronald Millar, MPH
